Music

One day he had free time, Nietzsche said "Without music, life would be a mistake." (well, he actually said "Ohne Musik wäre das Leben ein Irrtum". Anyway.) Even if this thought seems to be the result of a rare moment (surely not everything Nietzsche said or wrote is that clear), let's admit he was quite right.

As far as I'm concerned, I would tend to think I place myself on the right side... since I got into music when I still was a kid. Now to avoid long, boring, narcissic descriptions that nobody reads, I'll try and summarize my background in a few lines:

Personnal lessons with Colette PELLEGRINI
Accordion (1987-1998), Organ (1989-1995), Piano (1994-1998)

Conservatoire Massenet (National music school), Saint-Etienne
Musical education (1994-1998). End-of-study diploma with honnors in 1998
Electroacoustics, with Denys VINZANT (1994-1998). Silver medal in electroacoustics composing in 1998

Music and studies section at INSA Lyon
Jazz Piano with Armand REYNAUD (1998-2000)
Classical singing withPascale REYNAUD (2000-2002)

Workshops and masterclasses, University of Oxford
The Composer's worksop, Jonathan Darnborough (2008-2009)
Composer's masterclass, John MacCabe (2009)

So far, so good... what else?

  • I still play. You will know more here.
  • I compose (oh, it reminds me of a joke about Beethoven... but whatever). There's  a list here, some mp3, videos and scores
  • From time to time I happen to conduct. More here.
  • I listen to music a lot, but I won't tell much about this here.

And not to forget: for those of you that spend their time on social networks, I have a mage on Facebook and on LastFM. Feel free to click and like...
